Well-known personalities who help other people is something that we admire. However, it looks some people interpret the good things that famous personalities do in a different way.
Angel Locsin, who recently visited the war-striken city, Marawi went viral for her bravery and for being a volunteer in giving away relief goods and school supplies to the affected families. Though many gave praises to Miss Angel, there are still some who bashed her.
Piolo Pascual, one of the prominent actors of ABS-CBN defended Angel Locsin from her bashers. In an interview he said that Miss Angel is real in her deeds and she doesn't need publicity when it comes on doing voluntary work.
"Totoong tao si [Angel] eh. Di na niya kailangan ng press. Di na niya kailangan ng publicity. Matagal nang ganyan si Angel eh. She's an advocate of a good cause," Pascual said.
Here is the video of Piolo Pascual's interview:
Piolo is not the only one who defended Miss Angel. Neil Arce, a film producer and her rumored boyfriend expressed his disappointment through his Facebook status because of netizens who did not know all the facts.
"I just read someone's post here on Facebook sabi, 'When you do charity, do it quietly.' Saw the comments section as well, ang dami nilang alam. The person you are talking about went to the most dangerous area in the Philippines unannounced and without bodyguards or even government suervision. She risked her life just to help our coutnrymen. Media picked it up on her 2nd day there hindi po yun pinatawag and hindi plano," Arce wrote.
Neil Arce also said that people who bash those who help others are "scum" and asked them if they have done something to inspire people to help. But he believes that there are still people who are genuinely good.
"What have you done to help? What have you done to inspire people to help? Pati yung mga nagco-comment puro press pa kayo bring it on sulat niyo na ako ng masama wala akong paki! I know there are still good people out there but you people bashing people who are just trying to help other, you are scum," he added.
