The fans of La Luna Sangre were shocked because for the very first time, Malia Rodriguez and Jacintha Magsaysay or the Lady in Red, got involved in a one-on-one battle.
It all started when Jacintha showed her true self to the members of the Moonchasers and the La Liga Unida, telling them that she's the Lady in Red and that she wanted to help them in defeating Sandrino, the king of the vampires played by Richard Gutierrez.
However, they are facing one huge problem. Jacintha can't show her true self to Ssandrino so she has to look for someone who could defeat Sandrino.
They believe that Malia Rodriguez, the 'Bagong itinakda' is destined to kill Sandrino but then, her powers are yet to be unleashed, and so Jacintha Magsaysay offered to help them.
Jacintha Magsaysay volunteered to train Malia Rodriguez in hopes of forcing her powers to come out. They did some physical training mixed with emotional training to find out how strong Malia's heart is.
It was a pretty unfair battle since Jacintha Magsaysay already has the strength and power while Malia Rodriguez's powers are yet to be unleashed. But then, Malia chose not to back out because she's determined to unleash her powers.
