Spoken Word Poetry has been one of the newest styles on expressing your real feelings. It is the kind of art wherein people tend to share their experience and the feelings in which they can not say directly to the person whom they wanted to tell it. Nowadays, people are fond of this kind of poetry. Their own word poem compositions with the heavy use of rhythm, wordplay, slangs, rhymes and of course the intonation, audience whom you performed for were now able to come up with your spoken words.
Hence, the 18-year-old boy from Batangas City whose name is Antonio Bathan Jr. came to Pilipinas Got Talent to showcase his talent in Spoken Word Poetry. But then, the funny thing about it is that his poem composition was entitled as 'Pakbet'. That's why the crowd, especially the PGT judges were furious on what will be the topic of her spoken word performance.
Moreover, as Antonio started to perform, the judges can't help but show their admiration about how good Antonio is on composing a poem. In fact, Angel Locsin even shouted, "Kinikilig ako" during the performance. “Kinikilig ako, parang gusto ko ng pakbet. Ang ganda ng pagkakasulat,” Angel commented.
However, the versatile actress challenged the 18-year-old Antonio to compose a spoken word poetry about Pilipinas Got Talent. But then, we can say that he really is a talented boy because he was able to compose a poem on the spot. Antonio Bathan Jr. successfully made the Filipinos proud for keeping our language alive when it comes to poetry.
