Angel Locsin Gained Praises For Standing Up For Women After A Wild PGT Act!

The Pilipinas Got Talent judges Robin Padilla and Angel Locsin got into a heated argument after a group of scantily clad women performed in front of the judges on the Saturday episode of Pilipinas Got Talent.

Just a few seconds after they started performing on their underwear, Angel Locsin instantly hit the red buzzer. 

She explained: "Ako kasi parang hindi ko kaya na makita kayo na nagsasayaw na naka-underwear para lang sa’min. Masyado kayo magaganda at masyado niyo ’tong pinaghirapan para gawin ’yan. Kung may talent kayo, ’yun ang ipakita niyo sa’min dahil talent ang hinahanap namin dito, hindi katawan. Kaya ko kayo binuzz, ayaw kong ma-objectify kayo, masyado ako nagmamalasakit para sa inyo para i-go ko ’to."

However, after they performed, Padilla wanted to ask the girls if they did it on their own will.

"Ginagawa niyo ba yan dahil gusto niyo? O labag sa kalooban niyo? Isa-isa ha kasi mahalaga ’to. Para mabura sa isipan nu’ng mga ibang judges na kayo’y napilitan o ano," he said.

"Wala naman nag-iisip na napilitan, kuya Binoy," Locsin said.

"Gusto niyo ba ’yun na mga kalalakihan ay humahanga sa inyo?" Padilla asked the girls.

"Seryoso ka?" Locsin asked Padilla.

"Pakinggan muna natin sila," he responded.

One of the girls then told the judges, "Para po sa’min ay talent naman po namin ito."

However, Robin instantly stated that he's not against Angel's advocacy, but he wanted her to listen to what the girls has to say.

"’Yung sinasabi nila, magandang point ’yun, si Angel lalo. Intindihin niyo si Angel kasi advocacy niya ’yan, women’s rights. Kaya niya sinasabi yan para proteksiyonan kayo. Sana maintindihan niyo yan. Walang against sa inyo. Lahat ng sinabi dito pabor sa inyo," he said.

Later on, Angel Locsin clarified everything and st ated that her remarks weren't only because of their wardrobe. 

"Kuya, hindi lang naman kasi ’yung damit ang problema pero kasi kailangan mong turuan ng awareness," she said.

"Kaya nga di ba may pinapasarang bars ’yung Gabriela, mga ganyan, kasi kawawa ’yung mga kababaihan, akala nila ito ’yung way para makakuha ng pera, para sumikat. Kailangan turuan ng awareness kahit papaano. Wala naman tayong ibang paraan kung hindi sabihin talaga."

Robin then apologized to Angel and said, "Pasensya ka na ’tol, hindi kita kinontra, ’tol. Hindi kita kinontra sa sinabi mo. Wala naman kumontra eh. Naniniwala kami ’tol sa sinabi mo," he said. "Maganda ’yung point mo doon, hanga ako sa ginawa mo." 

In the end, the judges FMG and Robin Padilla said yes while Vice Ganda and Angel Locsin said no.

Vice Ganda said, "Nagugumilihan lamang ako if carwashing in your underwear is really a talent. Pero kung talent kasi talaga ’yan, kahit naka-pajama ka, naka-belo ka, kung kakaiba ’yung talent mo, makikita at makikita yung talent mo," he said.

"Ako ’yung desisyon ko wala itong kinalaman sa kung ano’ng suot niyo kasi your wardrobe is part of your self-expression. Pero talent-wise for me I don’t think that’s enough to win P2 million here in PGT. So I’m saying no."
