Before there were KathNeil, JaDine, LizQuen and other love teams in the industry, there was ChardGel, the unbreakable team-up of Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez.
It was in the year 2000 when Angel Locsin starred in her first ever film in the local industry wherein she played the role of Robina Gokongwei in the film 'Ping Lacson: Supercop'. However, it wasn't the one that brought her to the peak of her fame.
In the year 2004, she starred in the top-rating fantasy television series called 'Mulawin'. This was her first ever pair-up with Richard Gutierrez and surprisingly, it was a big hit! Since then, doors of opportunities have come for both Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez. In fact, they even starred in a few Mano Po films together.

Back to their first ever project, Mulawin. A lot of people may be wondering why we love ChardGel so much. Let me tell you something, Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez looked naturally lovely together. I mean, with their good looks, it would be impossible for their fans to resist their charm. But then, their team-up proved that they are more than a pretty face and so they strived harder until people have noticed their greatness more than their good looks!
In fact, we have here a throwback footage from one of the best scenes in Mulawin that showed how great of an artist they really are.
In the video posted on Instagram, Angel Locsin was held as a hostage, but before the enemy touched her, Aguiluz, Richard Gutierrez's character did something to save her. Apparently, Aguiluz sacrificed his own life just to protect Alwina. Isn't it the sweetest thing you've ever seen on TV?
"Buhay ko nalang ang kunin mo," Aguiluz said as he watches Alwina shed tears while being held as a hostage.
