On February 9, 2018, Asian TV Awards posted an update saying that Olivia Lamasan was already appointed as the newest Managing Director of Star Cinema by the ABS-CBN.
The ABS-CBN Corporation which happens to be the Philippines' leading media and entertaining company introduced Olivia Lamasan as the new managing director of ABS-CBN Films Productions Inc. or Star Cinema after Malou Santos retired as the chief operating officer of Star Creatives.
Before the appointment, Olivia had already headed the Star Cinema's creative department and she has already directed timeless Filipino films like Madrasta, Milan, Got to Believe, In The Name of Love, The Mistress, Starting Over Again, and most recently, Barcelona: A Love Untold.
Meanwhile, Malou will now be an executive adviser to Cinema wherein she will focus on foreign film acquisitions and regional productions.
Olivia Lamasan's appointment isn't only the highlight of the published article. In fact, in that same article, the Asian TV Awards also named the 8 television series in the Kapamilya network that was hailed as world-class television dramas.
