The Bulacan State University (BulSU) takes a big leap as they decided to start their own award-giving body for film, music, radio, and television–the Batarisan Awards that was launched on March 11, 2018.
The event that was attended by various news and entertainment personalities introduced the ceremony and their advocacy to the public to challenge the Philippine media and entertainment industry in producing quality content that's both entertaining and inspiring.
The event wasn't just about the award-giving ceremony but also about a mini-performance concert that will showcase the rich culture of Filipinos.
The event itself was single-handedly organized by the College of Arts and Letters wherein the term Batarisan simply means 'Bayanihan'.
The long process of choosing the awardees from the nominees started with a filtration to set a stander for the selection. Eventually, only one name would stand out for a specific category.
