In celebration of the International Women's day, ABS-CBN Starcinema has decided to list the eight women who have empowered everyone in different ways and instances in their long stay in showbiz.
1. Charo Santos
Somehow, the name of the CEO of ABS-CBN always pops into our mind every time we talk about women empowerment. Her success and humble story and for her to become the first-ever female president and CEO of ABS-CBN is something that we should all admire!
“Hindi naman ‘yan dahil sa lalaki ka o babae ka. It’s about character… Why do I have to become a man to be president? It’s about your sense of commitment, things that you value. It’s about your priorities,” she said.
2. Angel Locsin
Aside from being an award-winning and versatile actress, she's also a real-life superhero. In fact, with the recent controversy she's facing for standing up against women objectification, Angel still took to social media to write a powerful message, asking women to support each other.
“I vote we stop the girl-on-girl crime!” she wrote.
3. Jodi Sta. Maria
She's one of the smartest and most admired celebrities in the showbiz industry. She recently took the internet by a storm after she shared quotes and pieces of advice about empowerment and success.
4. Angelica Panganiban
The hugot queen isn't only known for her hugot lines. In fact, she's also known as the Independent queen who still chooses to rise and stand up for herself after she faced so many heartbreaks.
To put it perfectly, Angelica wrote, “Ang pinakamagandang regalo pala talaga ng buhay ay ang mahalin ang sarili… pwedeng maging maligaya at hindi na kailangan umasa sa iba.”
