1. She's a royal princess
- In an article released by the ABS-CBN News, Angel Locsin revealed that she's a part of a Muslim Royal Family. REports suggested that her mother was adopted b a Marawi Princess while her grandfather is the Sultan of Baloi in Lanao. She also added that her great-grandfather in Marawi is in Marawi and that she still sees her cousins.
2. She supports the fight of the indigenous peoples against militarization.
- She's not your typical girl. She is considered as modern-day Darna. When the issue about the lumad killings and the militarization of ancestral lands broke out, Angel vocally called out for the military pull out the troops from the ancestral lands.
She affirmed, “Yes, I am calling for the military pullout from lumad ancestral lands.”
3. Angel fights for women’s rights
- Aside from endorsing the Gabriela Party, she also actively takes part in the activities of the women's movement.
Then Gabriela Representative, Liza Maza, thanked and praised Angel saying that “the women of Gabriela Women’s Party admire Angel’s dedication to her craft as an actress and her enthusiasm for her cause as a woman. She is a role model for young women for she can advance with grace and conviction her profession and cause. We are happy that a young woman of such status, strength and substance supports the cause of oppressed and marginalized women.”
She also supported the Reproductive Health Bill saying that it's not just about contraceptives and birth control but also about education for women and protecting the welfare of children.
4. She is an ambassador of the Philippine Red Cross.
- She doesn't just fight for women's rights but also children's and indigenous people's rights. Despite her busy schedule she still finds time to do her duties as an ambassador of the Philippine National Red Cross
